The inaugural HBCU (Historically Black College & University) New York Football Classic will be held in the media capital of the world, metropolitan New York. The game will be an annual weeklong extravaganza of HBCU football and culture with New York City as the backdrop.

The inaugural HBCU New York Football Classic will be played on Saturday, September 17, 2022 between Howard University and Morehouse College. The weekend will also include festivities such as a Friday Mid-Day Coaches Luncheon and Media Day, a marching band competition and pep rallies by each team.
Location: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
Each year, the weekend’s premier event will be a college football game held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ between HBCU schools, who compete in Division 1AA or Division 2 football conferences.
Anticipated Attendance: 40,000-45,000
The 2022 HBCU New York Football Classic anticipates up to 45,000 spectators and the game will also generate an approximate economic impact of $10 million to the Metro New York area.
In the true spirit of HBCU game day action, the HBCU New York Football Classic will further entertain its spectators by having each of the university’s marching bands compete during the HBCU New York Classic’s spectacular halftime show and at various local events throughout the weekend
